DID YOU KNOW that Mallorca acne is a special form of solar eczema? The official name for these signs of the so-called Mallorca acne (or summer acne) is Acne aestivalis. The difference to other forms of acne is that it has neither purulent inflammation nor comedones (impurities), but is accompanied by severe itching.

WOW, the skin-colored or slightly reddened acne in the décolleté, shoulder or back area - and partly on the face - appear after an unprepared, intensive sunbath. In this case, unprepared means that the skin was not able to get used to the sun sufficiently in advance.

It is IMPORTANT to understand what exactly is happening here: The sun's UVA rays damage the skin because they trigger oxidative cell stress. The skin cells react to this, among other things, by producing lipids on the skin. These fats in turn combine with the emulsifiers in sunscreens and trigger Mallorca acne. Our Dr. Lars Rüther recommends using protect & care sun oil to protect and care for the skin all year round if you have Mallorca acne.

To use: Simply distribute the oil generously (2-3 pumps) evenly over the face and décolleté in the morning after cleansing your face and leave it to work for a few minutes. It can be used pure or in combination with other care products: please apply serums beforehand and creams afterwards.

If you sweat excessively or after being in the water for more than 20 minutes, please reapply the protect & care sun oil.
